Potential Assistance for Students in Higher Education Plus More

There is a website that I found that held several different articles related to jobs during your years in higher education. You could browse the articles by topics such as “Inclusion and Diversity,” “Job Search Advice,” or “Workplace Issues” (www.higheredjobs.com/career). There are also several career resourses available on the site, and students should take advantage of what is available on the website. The site also has a section where students could create a profile and update their CV’s and apply for different jobs available to students. They also are offering a professional to writers to write a CV or a resume for students in higher education.
The reason I want to bring this source up, is because I want to include it in my literature review for class. The only reason I have not added it to the literature review is because there are several different sources on this site and I am not sure the proper way to cite this website. I am not pulling information from specific articles but rather the site’s homepage. I really do think this source could be beneficial to all students in higher education, and it resembles the position I held during my undergrad internship. I helped students and peers with writing their resume or their CV, I also assisted with interview skills and applying for the next step. So if I figure out how to include this site properly in APA format, I will include it in my group’s literature review.
On the bright side, I interviewed my person for the Case Study we have to come up with. I have not chosen the theory yet, but I got a lot of information that I can use in my paper. I interviewed a coworker of mine, since I am new to my job I thought it would appropriate to pick one of my coworkers to use as my participant in this project. In my mind not only will my participant and mine’s relationship at work be better but it will also work for my project. He was really excited to be asked to be interviewed, since he is also going for his master’s in school counseling he realized that he has someone else to talk to about school counseling and classes.
On a side not, I was wondering about this week, it has been on my mind recently. I heard that since basically every state school in Pennsylvania is going on strike. I also heard that we should still go to class, but for this class, since it is online what are we supposed to do. Do we continue posting, and continue with the discussion posts? Are we supposed to continue with our work, even though we will not have an instructor? We should probably be made aware of what is recommended of us.  What if this strike last longer than to the end of the week? Will our grades suffer because we are losing points for every week we don’t have an assignment? Since the professors won’t be in contact with the students. Would this semester count as half a semester and we will have to make up the second half of the course? Will the results have a larger consequesnce on graduate students or undergrad students? These questions are what have been plaguing me or the past few days.
